Heh. That cover is the exact same edition I have.

How are you liking it?

I once sat on the steps of the paris opera house and watched dressed up people go inside. My hotel was across the street...

I'm about halfway through and I am liking it a lot.

First, I didn't know you read my blog! Second, that sounds like fun just sitting on the steps and watching people go by. I want to go to Paris.

yes I do...I like to breeze by occasionally...

I'm really glad you're enjoying it.

So, I have no reason for thinking that you know this, but do you know if they still perform opera at the Opéra Garnier? Because I was under the impression that they didn't anymore but wikipedia is unclear.

I want to go too! I still always picture the Phantom as looking like Claude Raines...you should watch that version...

Although, if you watch the Claude Rains version (or, indeed, any version ever) you should be aware that it is only tenuously related to the book. In that there's a guy in a mask and an opera singer but beyond that, well, it's only sort of the same story.
